VISION
SHOWCASE considers itself to be a meeting point for photographers, photographers' agents, and an interested expert audience.

Never before has interest in photography been as pronounced as it is at the moment. Not only is the number of exhibitions and publications larger than ever before - works of photography have also gained a significance on the art market that is comparable to that of a painting or a sculpture.

SHOWCASE wishes to encourage and promote this development even further by providing it with an exclusive platform.

Photographers work in a very competitive professional environment that is subject to constant change with regard to power of expression as well as technology. SHOWCASE has therefore set itself the important task of placing works of photography in a larger social and cultural context.

To date, the domestic market for photography has lacked a forum that is perceived beyond the boundaries of Switzerland. Consequently, it is the goal of SHOWCASE to establish Zurich as THE annual meeting point of European photography.

VISITORS
SHOWCASE was designed to meet the requirements of approx. 400 persons from Switzerland and abroad. We expect to attract art directors, art buyers, advertising and media specialists as well as photographers, photographers' agents, students of photography, picture editors, and art gallery operators and owners.

The SHOWCASE concept is unique in its kind: It is in a trendy location for cultural events that a professional forum for contemporary photography will take place to serve as an attractive platform and lieu of encounter for famous artists and promising young talents. The combination of exhibition and lounge will create an exclusive atmosphere that will, in turn, encourage the making of discoveries, thereby leaving sufficient space for surprises.

Thanks to the participation of interested persons from Switzerland and other European countries, the event will gain an international flair. Renown personalities from throughout the world who contribute to and publish fashion and lifestyle magazines have also been invited to attend.

Rea Eggli is the owner of the recently founded culture agency swissandfamous in Zurich. It is her agency's goal to develop and to bring successfully to market a new cultural platform. Rea Eggli can look back on quite a number of years of international experience in marketing communication and event management. She worked for Swisscom in India, before returning back to Switzerland via Stuttgart and Vienna. She then worked as an event / account manager for the MCI Group in Zurich for two years. Her IMAKA management training (AKAD) and her training as a SAWI culture manager have proven to be helpful in her professional career. Within the scope of Portfolionight 02, Rea Eggli was responsible for public relations, sponsoring, and media partnerships as well as the working out of event concepts and the ensuring of the corresponding logistics. She will be in charge of the same tasks for SHOWCASE.

Danielle Stutz, owner of the photographers’ agency DS Photographers, studied journalism at Zurich University and then went on to gain practical experience in advertising with Ringier, Zurich, before working as an advertising assistant with McCann-Erickson and undergoing corresponding further training at the SAWI. Before taking up in 2005 her own business, she worked as an art buyer for more than 7 years for McCann-Erickson and afterwards for Wirz Werbung. Within the scope of SHOWCASE, Danielle Stutz is responsible for the working out, production and organisation of invitations as well as registration / participation and the definition of programs for exhibitors and visitors.
